Scott is a Fifth Generation REALTOR. In 1888, his Great, Great Grand father W.H. Opie started Opie & Company REALTORS in Tacoma. The company was over 100 years old when it was purchased by Windermere. Now, he is also a proud father of two boys Peter (16) & Alexander (12) and currently resides on 6 acres in Beavercreek, OR.
Scott is an alumnus of the University of Oregon and received his Oregon Real Estate License in 1996. Scott began his real estate career in Raleigh Hills (SW PDX) with Cronin & Caplan Realty Group, which later became Windermere CCRGI, then PNW Realty-Lake Oswego, later Legend Real Estate Services (Tigard), eventually becoming owner of Sticks & Bricks Realty (SW PDX) and most recently with Arbor Real Estate Group.
Scott has worked hard to earn a variety of professional real estate sales designations. In 1997 he became an Accredited Relocation Agent and he has been a licensed principal broker since 1998. In 2003 Scott was inducted with a Master of Residential Marketing or M.I.R.M. This is the highest and most prestigious designation a new home sale professional can receive from the National Association of Homebuilder’s. Currently there are only 6 people with the M.I.R.M. designation in Oregon…3 of which are active in real estate. In addition to being awarded a MIRM, Scott has also received the following designations: CSP (Certified New Home Sales Professional) and C.M.P (Certified New Home Marketing Professional).
Scott is active in the Homebuilding and local Real Estate Sales Community and takes part as a member of the National Association of Home Builders, the Home Builders Association Metro Portland (HBAMP), Past Board Member of the Home Builders Association Metro Portland (2003), Past Chairman of the (HBAMP) Sales & Marketing Council & Education Committee, Member of National Association of REALTORS (NAR) since 1996, Member of Portland Metro Association of REALTORS (PMAR) since 1996, Member of REALTORS Multiple Listing Service-Portland (RMLS) since 1996, past of Member of Willamette Valley Multiple Listing Service-Salem & Corvallis. Scott has also been an Instructor teaching Real Estate & Marketing Professionals on the course topic of “Understanding Construction Systems, Processes & Technology” as well as Certified New Home Sales Professional seminars. In 2011 Scott listed & sold Arbor Custom Homes entry in the Street of Dreams “Chateau Marseille”. In 2011 Scott sold over $7.5 million in real estate (24 transactions) and in 2012 he joined forces with business partner Jennifer Walsh and sold over $17 million (64 transactions).
